Eep. There were times in my life when this novella/movie resonated with me deeply, and it changed from very painful to almost hopeful as I eased my way out of a relationship. A while back I’d be almost scared to read/watch it again to see how I would react, but since I would say I am (thankfully, gratefully) in the position Mirabelle finds herself at the end of Shopgirl, I wouldn’t mind now giving it another read.
